Exciting changes are coming to the bowling venue at Thornton Health & Fitness Centre.
From Wednesday 1 April 2026, the venue will be renamed Adventure Play and Bowl, continuing to offer high-quality ten pin bowling in the heart of the community. While bowling remains open as usual, the new name reflects an exciting new chapter for the venue. Families, friends, schools and local groups across Wyre and the Fylde Coast can continue to enjoy an exciting bowling experience in the same familiar and welcoming setting.
Operated by Creating Active Futures in partnership with Parkwood Leisure and Wyre Council, the venue will continue to welcome customers with many familiar team members remaining. Visitors can expect the same friendly atmosphere, great customer service and enjoyable bowling sessions that have made this location a popular destination over the years.
Adventure Play and Bowl will focus on delivering accessible, affordable and fun ten pin bowling for all ages and abilities.

This transition marks a new chapter for the venue, with plans to enhance the customer experience and introduce additional activities over time.
While bowling will be available from launch, our new adventure play and TagX zone will open later in 2026.
